Health Buddy Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 15, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how Health Buddy Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles your information when you use the Health Buddy mobile application (“App”). By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. AI Processing (Text & Images)

When you send a message or take a photo, the content is processed in real time by a U.S.-based AI service. That service may retain minimal system logs for up to 30 days solely to detect and prevent abuse, after which they are deleted. Health Buddy cannot access these logs. Your content is never used for advertising, profiling, or tracking.

2. Images & Storage

Users capture images only from the device camera and we never access your photo library. For paid users, photos taken in chat are saved locally in the Chat Archive and photos taken in the dedicated camera tool are saved locally in the Results Archive; the AI result is stored with its image. These local archives are not included in iCloud/iTunes backups and can be deleted at any time or by using Delete Account or uninstalling the App. For free users, images and results are deleted immediately after feedback and are never stored. We do not upload images to cloud storage, share them with third parties, or use them for training or marketing.

3. Chat History & Storage

Paid users can view a read-only archive of their chats, stored only on their device (never in the cloud). We cannot see, collect, or retrieve this information. Paid users can delete their archived chats, in partial or in full, at any time. If the App is deleted, all conversation history will be permanently removed. Free users do not have access to chat history and messages are deleted after each session.

4. Profile Information

During onboarding you provide basic profile information, which you can change at any time. This profile is stored in encrypted cloud infrastructure linked to your phone number and is used only to personalize AI responses. It is never shared with third parties. You can delete your profile at any time via the in-app Delete Account button. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

5. Account Access

You sign up and log in using your phone number verified by SMS. You may update your phone number in the App. Health Buddy does not use your phone number for marketing or any communication outside the App. Links to the Terms and Privacy Policy are available from the welcome screen.

6. Data Security & Analytics

We do not sell, share, or transfer any user data. Your profile information is secured with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We use Mixpanel and Apple App Analytics to collect de-identified usage metrics (such as screens visited and feature taps). No chat content, images, or health data is sent to these tools. Analytics collection stops when you delete your account.

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents may request access to, or deletion of, personal data by emailing support@healthbuddy.care. We will verify and respond within 45 days.

8. HIPAA Statement

Health Buddy is an informational tool and is not a covered entity under HIPAA. We do not store protected health information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. If we make significant changes, we’ll notify you in the App. Continued use after any updates means you accept the revised policy. We encourage users to review this policy from time to time.
